Skyhawks Sports Academy, founded in 1979, has established itself as a premier organization in the youth sports camp sector, based in Spokane, Washington. The franchise began offering opportunities in 2007, enabling local franchisees to own and operate their own Skyhawks Sports camps. This initiative has allowed for the spread of its programs across numerous locations, making sports accessible to children in various regions.

The Academy offers a wide range of sports programs including baseball, basketball, cheerleading, flag football, golf, lacrosse, multi-sport, soccer, tennis, track & field, and volleyball. These programs are designed to teach children ages 4–14 life skills through sports in a fun, safe, and non-competitive environment.

The curriculum includes week-long summer camps, clinics, and year-round after-school programs that emphasize critical lessons in sports and life, such as teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship. Skyhawks stands out from the competition by providing a comprehensive sports education that not only covers a wide range of sports but also incorporates life skills into the curriculum.

Initial Franchise Fee

The initial franchise fee varies depending on the franchise type: For a Tier 1 Dual Franchise, it is $42,500; for a Tier 1 Single Franchise, it is $32,500; and for a Tier 2 Franchise (Single Franchise), it is $15,000. This fee is due upon signing the franchise agreement and grants the franchisee the rights to operate a Skyhawks or SuperTots business, depending on the chosen tier and type.

Royalty Fee

The royalty fee is based on Gross Revenue, with rates ranging from 5% to 9% depending on the annual Gross Revenue. This ongoing fee allows franchisees to use the brand’s marks, proprietary system, and receive ongoing support and assistance. It’s calculated monthly, with a minimum monthly payment required that varies by franchise type and agreement year.

Local Advertising Requirement

Franchisees are required to spend a minimum of 3% of Gross Revenue on local advertising each quarter. If this requirement is not met, the difference must be paid to the franchisor, contributing to the brand’s building fund or directly to the franchisor.

Additional Training or Assistance Fee

Franchisees may incur a fee of $300 per day for additional or special training or assistance, plus applicable travel and other expenses. This fee is charged as incurred and covers the costs of training newly-hired personnel or providing refresher courses.

Transfer Fee

When a franchise business is sold or transferred, a transfer fee of $10,000 per territory for each Sports Academy Business subject to the transfer is applicable. If the franchisor assists with brokering the sale, an additional broker fee of up to 10% of the purchase price may also be assessed.
