Young Rembrandts is an art education franchise that originated from a simple yet noble goal: to teach children how to draw. The founder, Bette Fetter, started the program many years ago as a gift to a friend’s children, recognizing the lack of art instruction options compared to sports offerings. This humble beginning, with just eight children around her kitchen table, evolved significantly over time.

After 13 years of operating in the Chicagoland area, Young Rembrandts transitioned into a franchise organization in 2001. This move allowed the program to expand its reach and impact, working with tens of thousands of preschool and elementary students and employing thousands of instructors committed to fostering young children’s drawing and learning skills.

Headquartered in Elgin, Illinois, Young Rembrandts has grown into a well-respected name in children’s art education, with a presence in multiple countries and a mission to enhance the educational experiences of children through art.
