Startup Pitch Deck: the Solution Slide [+ Examples]
Are you building a pitch deck for your startup? Make sure to include in your pitch deck a clear and memorable Solution slide.
In this series of articles we show you how to create a stunning pitch deck for your startup.
The Solution slide explained
Your startup builds and commercialises a product and/or a service which solves the problem laid out on the Problem slide. This slide should not explain in detail your product nor how it works. Instead, focus on the benefits for your customers.
Ideally, you should compare the pain points explained on slide 2 (the problem slide) to the benefits your solution brings to your customers. That way, it is crystal clear to investors your solution really adds value to potential customers.
For example, if you are a B2B marketplace focusing on specialised healthcare equipment industry for private clinics, hospitals, nursery homes, etc. benefits can be:
- Availability of products and comparability: clinics can choose exactly the product they are looking for, easily comparing features vs. alternatives
- Price competition ensuring best price-quality ratio
Tip: if possible, do a demo of your product to investors (either in-person or video call). It’s always very powerful to show your product live so potential investors can test it themselves.
If you can’t bring your product nor do a demo, show mockups or images so investors have a clear understanding of what your solution is (see more on the Product slide).
Note: be careful not to turn your solution slide into a how-it-works slide either. Whilst you can include the demo of your product here, the slide itself should explain instead the benefits to your customers. Save the explanation of your product for the Product slide instead.
